Technician, Welding/ Welder

Job Summary:
The role holder is responsible for performing welding tasks on various materials (i.e., Carbon Steel, Aluminum, Steel, etc.) to assemble, repair, and fabricate equipment and structures. This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure the integrity and reliability of welded joints in demanding environments.
Key Accountabilities:
- Execute various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) to assemble, repair, and fabricate metal components in accordance with project specifications and technical drawings.
- Carry out inspection of welds to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS) and project requirements.
- Safely operate and maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality for welding tasks.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints to accurately execute welding projects.
- Work closely with other disciplines, supervisors, and engineers to ensure seamless operation and coordination on-site.
- Adherence and follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report any issues or discrepancies with materials, drawings, or welding processes, providing solutions to enhance workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time sheets, inspection reports, and material usage logs.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- High school or Diploma in the relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 6 – 8 years’ direct and relevant experience preferably within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical or Heavy Manufacturing Industry.
- Certification as a Welder (e.g., AWS Welder Certification) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) and associated materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Familiar with industry standards and regulations governing welding practices.
