Job Summary:
The Asset Integrity Engineer (QA/QC Coordinator for Pressure Equipment) is responsible for ensuring that all pressure vessel components and assemblies are fabricated and/or installed in compliance with applicable codes and standards, and QAFCO specifications. The role involves coordinating and performing/witnessing inspection activities, reviewing quality documentation, liaising with third-party inspectors, and ensuring overall quality assurance throughout the fabrication and testing process.
Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinate and perform/witness all inspection activities related to pressure equipment during fabrication, assembly and testing, and be a focal point for all Requests for Inspections (RFI).
- Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII, API 510, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, API 650 and other relevant codes and standards.
- Supervise or witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), hydrotesting, and visual inspections.
- Coordinate in criticality ranking of the equipment fabrication based on QAFCO procedures and accordingly assign the Inspection Data Sheet (IDS).
- Coordinate with Asset Integrity Engineers in respective fields in Pre-Project studies to review the performance of the existing equipment and improvements needed.
- Follow up the inspection steps as per ITPs by coordinating contractors, internal as well as third party inspectors.
- Follow-up incoming material inspection in stores according to Company procedures/specifications. Reporting the discrepancies and non-compliances.
- Coordinate with third party inspection agencies to complete the Annual Lifting inspection certification programs. Communicate with the user sections for corrective actions and repairs for recertification. Review/approve contractors Lifting Equipment and Method Statements for critical lifts.
- Review and verify Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Procedures, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure
- Qualification Records (PQR) and Welding Performance Qualification (WPQ).
- Monitor and control quality records, inspection logs, and deviation reports.
- Review and monitor Non-Conformances and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive action.
- Review Manufacturer Data Records (MDRs), Quality Dossiers, and final documentation for issuance of Release Notes.
- Serve as the main point of contact between Asset Integrity, Engineering, Project, and Third-Party Inspectors.
- Attend quality and production progress meetings and report on inspection statuses and issues.
- Ensure all inspection activities meet the project specification, QAFCO requirements, relevant codes and standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Recommend and implement quality improvements to enhance fabrication efficiency and compliance.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience direct and related to quality inspection roles, particularly with pressure equipment. Experience working in an EPC environment will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with ASME, API, and ISO quality systems.
- Qualified in API 510& 70, ASNT Level II NDT Certification (e.g., RT, UT, MT, PT) and welding inspection CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and sequences, welding and heat treatments, inspection and testing methods, material and its traceability, and good understanding of fabrication drawing.
- Having good knowledge of metallurgy, software tools like AutoCAD, SAP, or QMS platforms and ASME authorized inspector will be an advantage.
