Job Summary:

The role holder oversees the company’s financial controlling, including financial reporting, cost management, tax management and Delegation of Authority management, as well adhering to relevant standards and guidelines in an efficient manner to support the organization in achieving its vision and objectives.

The role holders support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in leading, managing and administering key processes including Reporting & Financial Performance Management, Commercial Analysis, External Financial Reporting and Compliance, Cost Management, Business Partnering and Financial Support, Asset Accounting, General Accounting & Financial Closure and Tax Management as well as Delegation of Authority management.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop/formulate long and short-range strategic planning, policies, programs, and objectives for the Department to meet the organization's operational goals and targets, consistent with established procedures.
  • Ensure that the CFO is always informed of the Department’s performance and activities. Recommend appropriate measures to address issues concerning the Department’s areas of responsibility and follow-up.
  • Review and redesign finance processes as required and set appropriate KPI’s and identify ways to improve the Company’s financial performance; implement the best practices in finance processes and procedures.
  • Follow-up, monitor and control the plans and budgets and make necessary adjustments to ensure effective planning and cost control.
  • Manage all company internal and external financial reporting, integrity of the financial systems, and processes to ensure external and statutory compliance, including the preparation of financial statements and other external financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accepted international financial accounting standards, tax and legal requirements by setting and monitoring internal and external financial controls.
  • Ensuring timely reporting and analysis of actual cost performance versus budget and other (external) metrices/benchmarks to prepare interventions if needed, together with budget holders.
  • Work with budget holders to identify ultimate cost potential based on external benchmarks to identify Top Quartile performance per main process and formulate “gap to potential” roadmap to improve performance.
  • Apply “continuous improvement” techniques (including benchmarking to identify best practices and subsequent “Gap to Potential” action planning) to support cost rightsizing and in line with finance strategy/objectives.
  • Ensure effective tax management including compliance with local/international tax regulations and maintain professional relationships including auditors, local authorities, bankers, consultants and rating agencies.
  • Ensure Delegation of Authority is maintained regularly and following organizational changes. Ensure correct approval of changes and ensure correct implementation in ERP system (SAP).
  • Provide service to other departments/ section whenever the need arises (i.e., provide guidance in case of an incident).
  • Advise & propose areas for improvement, which include digital continuous improvement through ERP, implement changes in processes/system based on changes in legal framework, develop new or enhanced procedures, processes & systems that will deliver improved effectiveness and efficiency of the department as well as the company’s overall performance.
  • Ensure continuous development of talent within the Department to accommodate current and future needs, including the development of Qatari nationals.
  • Develop an effective and motivated team, ensure it is well-organized and appropriately staffed and skilled. Identify training needs to bridge gaps, actively develop to accommodate current and future needs, including the development of Qatari nationals.

 

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Accounting or relevant discipline.
  • 15 Years of direct and relevant experience including 5 years at senior/ managerial level.
  • Professional Certification in Accounting would be an advantage.
